Please take a look at all of our learning.

Another fabulous week of learning in our two bubbles

We have loved having some of the children back in nursery school this week!

The children enjoyed talking about special people in their families and making cards for Mother’s Day.

Linked to our core book, Jack and the Beanstalk, the children have been planting beans and finding out about how plants grow.

We have been reading Rosie’s Hat. The children have loved looking at different hats and have even been designing their own hats! We have also been writing our story maps to help us retell the story.

As part of our winter theme, the children have been experimenting with ice. We have made ‘sticky ice’ and tested different materials for a sledge.

We have been reading 'Dear Zoo'. We have created story maps, innovated the story with our own ideas and we looked at different animals in non-fiction books. The children have loved this theme!

Look at all of our fantastic mark making from the Autumn term.

SUPER SNACK HELPERS! We have a healthy snack available every day. The Super Snack Helpers help to prepare the snack for their friends at nursery. The children need to remember to wash their hands, they can choose their fruit, they pour their own drink and they even wash up afterwards.

The new and returning children have been busy developing their social skills this half term. They have been forming new friendships, taking turns and learning to share. What a super start to the year!

We've had some new maths equipment out this half term. The children have been counting and adding two numbers together with the Numicon, and creating repeating patterns with the Compare Bears.

The children have been focusing on shape, space & measures this half term.

The children are currently fascinated by Minibeasts! They have been looking for Minibeasts in the woodland. Some children found two worms on the grass outside. They watched it wriggling and stroked it gently. They wanted to cover the worm in grass so that it didn’t get too hot in the sun. We even have a collection of snails in nursery for the children to observe.

We have been reading Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. We explored porridge, created the 3 Bears' Cottage and did some story sequencing.

We have been exploring snow and ice this week. Outside we observed the frost, ice and snow. Inside we found some princesses frozen in ice! We had to work out how to rescue them!

The children made their own tree ornaments and decorated the nursery Christmas tree with them. It looks beautiful!

Some children have been writing letters from their names.

Some children have been working on their gross motor skills.

We talked about poppies for Remembrance Sunday.
